The iconic St. Alphonsus statue that has stood sentry at Liguori Mission House for more than 50 years has moved to a new location on the Liguori campus.
Led by General Contractor Will Jernigan, the project had been planned for about three months. Will and his assistant, Dwayne Sebo, built a new concrete base for the statue in the front yard at St. Clement’s and worked to get the statue ready for the move on December 2.
With a big lift from Kevin Giblin, Jermaine McGee and Terry Deets with Budrovich Construction Company, the 7,000-pound, Italian Carrara white marble statue was plucked from its original perch and transported for placement on the new platform.
