I am Jean Carlo François, I was born in Jérémie (Haiti) in a family of four children of whom I am the eldest. I arrived in Canada in 2010 to study Theology in Montreal. After my ordination to the priesthood, I worked as a vicar at the Parish of Notre Dame du Saint Rosaire in Montreal, then at the Sanctuary of Sainte Anne de Beaupré in Quebec.
In 2022 I moved to Toronto to study English. Seven months after my arrival, I began the process of obtaining my Canadian citizenship and this process allowed me to study the history of Canada. A few years after submitting my application, I obtained my Canadian citizenship; and I am happy and delighted to have obtained it because it will give me not only more openness in my mission as a Redemptorist but also the possibility of exercising my right and my duty as a Canadian Citizen. I am happy to live and work in this country of peace, love, justice, sharing, respect and friendship.
During this long process there were many people who have accompanied me and I would like to take this opportunity to give thanks to them and especially to all of my confreres in the Congregation of the Redemptorists of Canada who have helped me in the process.
May the Lord bless you and fill you with the abundance of grace.
