In Remembrance: Bob Gonzales

January 16, 2023Former Redemptorist Robert “Bob” Gonzales died on January 3 at the age of 74 in San Antonio. He professed vows in 1968 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1974.
Bob served as pastor of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church in San Antonio and director of Bishop DeFalco Retreat Center in Amarillo before leaving the Congregation in 1986.
Bob served his community in several Drug and Alcohol Education and Mediation programs and was very involved at St. Gerard Catholic Church, where he led the Perpetual Help novena on Tuesday evenings.
Bob loved nothing more than spending time with his family and friends, especially being outdoors fishing or in the mountains of Colorado. He is remembered for making friends with anyone and everyone, and living his life guided by his faith and truly practicing what he preached.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace.
