Living the Pastoral Year of Redemptorist Formation

November 8, 2021My name is Brian Vaccaro, C.Ss.R. and I am currently doing my pastoral experience in Tucson, Arizona.
I arrived on August 6, 2021, and I will be here until December 28, 2021. While I live with the Redemptorist community at the Redemptorist Renewal Center, I do my ministry at Santa Catalina Catholic Church, which is about 20 miles away.
Rev. Lamar Partin, C.Ss.R., the pastor, has me involved in several different ministries. I serve at daily and weekend Masses, and funerals as I am needed. I preach every Tuesday morning at the daily Mass, and I typically preach at one of the weekend Masses. I visit parishioners who cannot come to Mass and bring them Holy Communion, and I help lead a parish bible study.
This month, I began helping with the Religious Education program. Additionally, during my time here, Fr. Lamar has scheduled me to work with various office heads on the parish staff, including the Director of Liturgy, the Director of Music, the Director of Religious Education, the Director of Hispanic Ministry, and the Director of Finance in order to help me to gain a better understanding of the inner workings of the parish and how the various offices work together.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here so far. The parish staff is wonderful to work with, and the parishioners are very warm and welcoming.
