For the second year in a row, the leadership teams of the Denver and Baltimore Provinces celebrated the feast of St. Alphonsus Liguori at the National Assembly of the Conference of Major Superiors of Men (CMSM). Bishop William Wack, CSC of the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee in Florida presided at the feast day liturgy on August 1. The meeting was held in Atlanta, Georgia.
Denver OPC members Fathers Anthony Nguyen, Aaron Meszaros and Kevin Zubel along with Bishop Wack and Fathers John Collins and John Olenick – joined leaders of dozens of other religious institutes for a time of connecting, networking and formation in leadership in Atlanta from July 20 to August 1.
This year’s theme, “Renewed in the Spirit: Changing Realities in Religious Life,” encompassed a variety of topics, including: exploring opportunities for better collaboration with bishops; perspectives and attitudes of younger generations toward institutions; identity and belonging and how that impacts who is entering religious communities; and new developments and best practices for safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.
